Obituary for Harriet Blanche Rocker (Green)

Harriet Blanche Rocker (Green)
Harriet B. Rocker, 80, of East Wenatchee, passed away peacefully at her home on October 3, 2017. She was born on April 5, 1937 at Riverside, California to the late Carl and Evelyn (Stamper) Green. As a young child, she made a number of moves while growing up with her father’s Marine Corps Career. They moved to Morehead City, South Carolina and continued up and down the Eastern Seaboard to different Military Bases. While she was in high school, they moved to Memphis, Tennessee and Harriet became involved with running moonshine. Her mother worked as a Emergency Dispatch Operator and took the call that ended that short lived career. This however, generated a lifelong love for the NASCAR race circuit. Their family moved to Bakersfield, California where she remained and worked at a bar where she met and got to know the country western star, Buck Owens. A few years later, she met Lyle Rocker and they were married in November of 1964. Lyle was in the Air Force and they once again traveled with his assignments. They lived at San Bernardino, California. Waco, Texas, Washington D.C. (Where Lyle worked at the Pentagon), Rein-Main, Germany and Colorado Springs, Colorado. They had met the Martin’s of Wenatchee while in the military and Jerry enticed them to move to East Wenatchee upon retirement. So, in 1979, they moved to East Wenatchee and lived first at the Martin Ranch out past Pangborn Airport. They remained in Wenatchee for 25 years before retiring in 2005 and moving to Conconully. They remained in Conconully until returning to East Wenatchee in 2015.
Harriet enjoyed crafts and was a very accomplished seamstress. She made all of her grandchildren T Shirts and underwear. She enjoyed collecting Teddy Bears and artifacts for her favorite holiday, Halloween. She was a avid Dallas Cowboys football fan and a NASCAR junkie.
She is survived by her husband, Lyle Rocker, East Wenatchee; five children, Debbie (Jack) Anderson, Conconully, WA, Paul (Laura) Karlon, Swansee, S. Carolina, Raymond Rocker, Connell, WA, Lynnette (Bryan) Heidenreich, Spokane Valley, WA; Gary (Trudi) Rocker, Everett, WA; her sister, Liz (John) Riebe, Pahrump, NV; sister by choice, Kathy Strain, East Wenatchee; her brother, Chuch (Diane) Brent, Redding, CA; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Johnny Brent.
A Remembrance Gathering will be held at Three Lakes Golf Club at 5:30 p.m., on Saturday evening, October 28th, followed by a potluck reception. Everyone is invited to visit her tribute online at www.HeritageMemorialChapel.com and leave a memory. Arrangements are in the care of Heritage Memorial Chapel, East Wenatchee.
