Obituary for Robin Dale Ullas

Robin Dale Ullas
Robin Ullas, 61, Wenatchee and former longtime Yakima resident, in Cheryl’s arms peacefully went to be with our Heavenly Father on Thursday, October 12, 2017, at Central Washington Hospital.

He was born on December 20, 1955 at Napa, California to Roy and Gloria (Weaver) Ullas. The family made several moves with his father’s job which encompassed the Bay Area in California. They moved to Sunnyside, Washington in 1969 where Robin finished Junior and Senior high school. He graduated from Sunnyside High School in 1975. He continued his education at Yakima Valley College prior to becoming the Manager of the Shoe Department at Totem Sales in Sunnyside.

In 1982, he welcomed his daughter, Heather “Hunzer” Lynn Ullas into his life. As a single parent, he decided to move to Yakima where he went to work at Western Recreation Vehicles as an Assembly Carpenter for the next 21 years.

On November 5, 1999, he met Cheryl Keeley (his Mon Cheri) and they began their 18 year journey of love. In 2009, with the permission of Cheryl’s sons her Robin Hood moved to Wenatchee to be with the love of his life. Robin became the Manager of the Habitat for Humanity Store and remained there until one year ago.

Robin was a quiet, kind, gentle soul who did not need recognition. He was a very active volunteer at the Town Toyota Center for the past seven years. This past year his family witnessed his strength and perseverance beyond what many could endure. His compassion for others was amazing and he would often do kind deeds for those in need.

He was baptized into and attended Columbia Grove Covenant Church in East Wenatchee. Robin had a huge passion for music and sports. Robin would spend hours at a time on the basketball courts, often times not leaving until he made 100 free throws consecutively. It wasn’t uncommon for him to go on a 20 mile bike ride after working a 10 hour day. He loved “whooping” his Mon Cheri at ping pong. But his favorite sport was actually tennis, which his Dad introduced to him. The last few years he particularly enjoyed golfing at Potholes with Crystal Marey, Jon and Matt Watson.

Robin had an incredible passion for his music and who produced it. He was a guitar enthusiast and had a classic collection.

Robin is survived by his Fiancé, Cheryl Keeley, Wenatchee; his daughter, Heather Ullas, Portage, Wisconsin; sons, John (Anna) Halvorson, Portland, OR; Kevin Halvorson, Wenatchee, WA; father, Roy Ullas, Yakima; six sisters, Yvonne Ullas, Crystal Ullas (JP Boyd), Reese Ullas (MaKayla Everroad), Loretta Watson and Crystal Marey all of Yakima and Erika (Serapio) Perez, Kennewick; three grandchildren, Sadie Leach, Jack and Ryan Johnson all of Portage, Wisconsin; ten nieces and nephews, Jose and Mariah Marquez, Bella and Ky’Rie Perez, Jon and Matt Watson, Lennox, Az’Jinay and Quentin Boyd, and Drake Twitty.

He has joined his mother Gloria Ullas in Heaven.

A Commemoration Service will be held on Monday, October 23rd at 10:00 a.m. at Columbia Grove Covenant Church, 19 McElmurry Lane, East Wenatchee, with Pastor Andrew Thompson officiating. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, October 24th at 11:00 a.m. in the Zillah Cemetery, Zillah, Washington. To honor Robin’s love for music and sports we are asking you to attend the services representing your favorite music group or sports team.

In lieu of flowers please show kindness to others by making memorial donations to Small Miracles Community Outreach 636 Valley Mall Parkway, Ste 200A East Wenatchee, WA 98802.

My Robin Hood, you brought love and laughter into my life. You made me a better person every single day and I will forever miss your wit, your quirky ways and your irrelevant trivia knowledge, even frequently getting locked out of the house. I will try to remember to lock the house and the car. The toilet paper may never end up on the roll again though. And I will honor you in all I do. Love you more, Your Mon Cheri
